On October 4, 2019, during Charter Day Weekend (homecoming for those who are not from Bryn Athyn), Ashley walked into Oh Bryon's, a local bar favored by alumni during homecoming weekend festivities, and immediately caught Nikita's attention. After learning that they had many mutual friends, Nikita asked one of his now groomsmen for help in getting a conversation started with Ashley (or as some would call it "to wingman"). Turns out this particular groomsman had just played golf with Ashley's brother and grandfather, so who better to help!

After a couple of brief conversations, Nikita had offered to buy their group of mutual friends a round of drinks, and specifically asked Ashley if she needed another. But upon noticing her nearly full drink, he said, "oh, I guess you're good?", to which Ashley responded with, "One Second!" and chugged her entire drink followed by a, "I'll take a vodka soda please!" and as Ashley likes to say, that's when Nikita knew that he had met the one.

The following Friday, they had a scheduled date, which quickly turned into 3 dates in one weekend, and nearly 5 years later they will be tying the knot!
